Escape with me into the world of romance where hot and sexy modern heroes with ravishing heroines in their arms are waiting.
************************
As a reader, I want to be swept away when I read. I want the book to make me forget, to make me wish that I am in the story, that I am the heroine, to make me fall in love with the hero and curse at the bad boys or girls. I am assuming that other readers (I heard the number of male readers are increasing) want the same thing. So, as an author my aim is to give an answer to the needs I mentioned above.
But writing a romance book is not as easy as plucking a book off a bookshelf, curling up in the corner and reading it. Some would say, “Duh. Of course, it isn’t” But hey, I’ve heard others say the opposite. If you are Nora Roberts, thanks for stopping by. Please tell us your opinion. :)
Whatever the answer is, it doesn’t matter whether you write contemporary, historical, or paranormal romances. These genres all have one thing in common--HEA or Happily ever after. The core of romance books, the very reason why I read and write romance.
To arrive at that part of the book is the challenge. Developing a romantic relationship, obstacles, and to show the main characters inner conflict which paved the way to HEA are very challenging. But as a writer that’s the challenge I have to face. It must be done. After all, readers want to know how the characters survived the obstacles and how they celebrated it. Wolf and Madeline, main characters from Wicked Proposal celebrated theirs in a warm indoor pool. ;)
In my recent book, Wicked Proposal, the characters faced many obstacles but in the end they found that the emotional turmoil and tears were worth the happiness and love they covet. But is it worth reading and the price the reader paid for it? I sure hope so. :D It is my desire that the readers found what they expect, their happy ending when they were done reading it on their computer or on their Kindle—satisfaction, an elated feeling, and experienced the feeling of falling in love.
If I interest you enough and you would like to know if I did a good job creating a romance story, Wicked Proposal is available for purchase from eXtasy Books. If you’ve read it already, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please let me know what you think.
If you haven’t seen or read it yet, here is the link to my recent interview: The Romance Studio

Congrats, Tierney on your recent book AND on your upcoming releases! I wish you the best of luck! And I agree with you about writing HEA's, easy at times, frustrating at times, but you love the characters too. Kind of like any "real" relationship. I read for the same reason, but I also want the escape from reality as well.
*huggles* Again, congrats and best of luck!
Thanks Gracen! Congrats on your books, too. Any news on your Devil's Den?
HEA's are the entire reason I read and write romance. In a world that can turn to shit on a dime, I really want that guarantee that everything will be fine in the end when I'm reading. No Oprah's book club for me. Hehhehee
Great post.
