Everyday Living

I think sometimes when in the heat of writing one, two or three books at a time, it's possible to get so caught up in the creating that I forget to step back and take a breath.

It's a rainy Sunday here in NJ. That's good, we needed the rain desperately. I have to work tonight, but am off for the next two days. I have both days packed with writing on the books I need to finish and some I need to make some serious tracks on...but something more important came up that will delay those plans for a bit: my husband asked me out on a date.

Now, it's not anything big or fancy, but fun. I'm all for this. Most of the time we're both running in different directions at breakneck speed. Both of us working outside jobs while pursuing creative mediums. It takes a lot of time and committment, not to mention time spent not doing things together. We do have an unspoken rule in our house. When night falls and we're both home we meet in the living room to at least spend time together. Now, this usually involves watching television while we're both working, but at least we're together - even if it is just hanging out in each other's company. But every once in a while it's nice to go out away from the pressing work and just do something different.

He wants to go play carpet golf. Oh, man. Neither of us have done this in years! I'm looking forword to it. The weather is supposed to be nice (the rain in the area is supposed to clear out by Monday night.) I'll let you know how it goes. I might be very rusty. Hehehehhe...

I wonder if I can talk him into eating dinner at the new Mexican restaurant down the road from the carpet golf place? We'll see.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
